Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

Santa Claus is coming to town...

and he stopped by our house a little early!!

We finally made it to take come Christmas pictures with the baby. It also just so happened to be his 3 month birthday! I cannot believe that he is already 3 months old. I need time to slow down. We've put away his newborn and most of his 0-3 months clothes. He still continues to be such a good baby. He has started to smile more and is cooing. He has lots to say to us! He is recognizing us more and more and definitely knows who his mommy and daddy are! He just melts our hearts. We though our life was good before the baby, but boy were we wrong! This is what life is about!! Enjoy some of my favorite pictures from our photo shoot.

Giddy Up Horsey!

Go to town!

Giddy Up Horsey!

Don't fall down!

The baby had to test out his cousin's new saddle!

Happy Halloween!

From the cutest little baseball!

Apparently there IS CRYING in baseball! hehehe

A Traveling Man!

The baby and I just got back from a short vacation to visit my family. The little guy is a traveling champ! We only had to stop once both times for a diaper change and a feeding. I am so grateful that there were no screaming fits because I'm not sure how I would have done with those! He continues to be the best little baby. He got spoiled by his grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and all the cousins. It's so fun to watch the kids interact with the baby. While we were gone we missed the daddy, but so grateful for the time around other people. I was starting to go a little stir crazy at home. It looks like I may be heading back to the land of the working in a week as long as I get the all clear from my doctor. I don't want to go back to work, but I am trying to save some of my days for emergencies or mental health days. :) We'll head back to my parents next weekend to pick up my mom who will be watching the baby when I head back to work.

Earlier this evening I weighed the little guy and he is over 9 lbs now. He is growing way too quickly! He is 5 weeks as of today. It's been the best 5 weeks of our lives!

The little native is getting restless so I better go check on him. Here are a couple of recent pics. Enjoy!

Growing!

This little guy is growing so fast. He weighed 6 lbs 11 oz today at his pediatrician appointment. He is now finally past his birth weight! Here are a couple of pictures from this past week!

Making His Blog Debut!

I've decided not to use the baby's real name on the blog. If you know me in real life, please send me an email (my email is in my profile) or if you Facebook, be sure to add me as a friend. There are lots of pictures going up there!

The baby is finally here! Due to some blood pressure issues I was put on bed rest on August 19. I also made a couple of trips to triage for blood work and monitoring. After being released 2 times, the 3rd time was a charm! We went to triage for the 3rd time on Saturday, August 29. My blood pressure numbers actually looked really good, but my doctor was not happy with the baby's heart beat readings. They started higher than usual and would drop down some and go back up. Thankfully it never got to a point where he was in distress, but my doctor said she was looking for another sign to take him and this was it. Within an hour or so, I was scheduled for a C-section. We were taken up to the OR while my parents anxiously waited. We were in the OR at 2:00 PM, the baby was born at 2:03 PM, and I was rolled out by 2:35. Talk about an efficient doctor! Before leaving the ER, my doctor told me that the baby's cord was wrapped around his neck twice. THANK GOD she took the sign when she did. It hurts my heart to even think of any what ifs.

He weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and was 19.5 inches long! The baby was a bit jaundice so we had to stay in the hospital until September 1. We are all adjusting well to this new little life. He is such a good baby and very laid back! He did lose a bit more weight than they wanted, but he is on the road to filling out! We have been blessed beyond measure and are so grateful for this little miracle boy!

Way Overdue Update-The Finished Nursery

I hate that it's taken me so long to update the blog. You'd think that with all the summer months, that I would have at least added something since May. After being on a computer at work for 10 hours, getting on a computer at home was the last thing on my mind. :)

Here are some pictures of the baby's finished nursery. Not sure why they are a bit grainy.

Artwork that is hanging over the crib. The baby's name will go on the canvases on the right.

His crib with custom bedding made by my mom..his Nana! It's hard to see in this picture but its baseball through and through!

This is the wall that you see when you walk into the baby's room. These are photos of all of the baseball stadiums that my husband and I have been to together except for the Rangers. Go figure! The company on Ebay didn't have a picture of the Rangers. Maybe one of these days!

A corner in his room where I am sure we will spend a lot of time rocking this baby!

Just the start of his autograph collection!

A view from the door.

His dresser with the cutest baseball and glove knobs!

Nursery-Stage I

We have begun planning for baby boy's arrival! We are well underway with designing and preparing the nursery. Over the past couple of days my mom has been here painting away. Here are some beginning stages photos. We are going with a Baseball theme. My mom has the fabric and will be making all of his bedding for us. Thank goodness Nana can sew! One of my favorite cousins (shout out Steph!) is taking on a huge project to paint some canvases with some baseball flair and eventually the baby's name (we are keeping it top secret) to hang on the wall that was once green in the pics below. Bedding and decor to come before too long I hope! I couldn't leave out the last picture of the furry babies in the nursery. They both LOVE to go in this room! Little do they know that eventually it won't be so quiet in there!

Happy Mother's Day

I'm not even sure if I've told my mother or mother in law about this blog. If I didn't, I had the best of intentions, but didn't want to spread the word about the blog until I was done tweaking the layout. Maybe now I should ask them if they know about this? :) I know once the baby gets here, they will care more about the blog posts with photos!

Being away from our families on days like today is really hard. We hope both of our mothers (as well as all other mothers out there) have a wonderful day and love them both very much. Thankfully we just saw both of them last weekend and got to spend some time with each of them!

Our day will be pretty laid back and may not even get off the ground. The hubby is still sleeping! I'm going to try to convince him to take me to lunch somewhere and then to Ft. Worth to look at the last fabric we need for the baby's room. I'm sure he will be excited about that one! Actually he's the best and has been just as excited about this baby as I am. I tell him all the time that he is probably going to make a better mom than me! hehe So I guess I should go tell him Happy Mother's Day!

A Long Overdue Update

I really need to do a better job at updating this blog, but by the time I get home from work I am tired of being on a computer!

We are winding down the house projects thanks to my parents being here for over a week and talking some of the projects. Really the last big thing to do on the house is to strip the garage and paint the floor. We were going to do this while my parents were here, but thanks to good ol' spring rains and thunderstorms our plans were postponed. Thankfully this is just a bonus project and isn't something that has to be done right away.

On the baby front all is going pretty well. I hit the 20 week mark tomorrow!! It's hard to believe that we are half way there! A couple of weeks ago we had our sonogram and found out that we are having a BOY!! We are both beyond excited and are in full force of planning his baseball nursery. The fabric is in, and we will be taking that to Nana the end of the month so she can work her magic! We'll finalize paint colors then as well and hopefully will find a time to get her up here to paint the nursery. Once it's painted my cousin, Stephanie, will hopefully treat us to some of her painting skills and add some whimsical touch to the room. *Hint Hint Steph check your email!!!*

I also need to work on getting some after pictures of the house, but just as we get things organize d and cleaned company comes and then we are back at square one. :) We love finally being able to have both sets of parents come visit at the same time and no one has to sleep on the floor!!

Baby update

Unfortuantely there are no new pictures for today's post, but we were able to hear the heartbeat again. Hopefully we will be able to find out what we are having on May 7! I will be sure to post as soon as we know anything.
We are winding down on the home improvement projects and preparing for company Friday. Pictures will be up some time soon!

Tweaking

I can't believe it's been a whole month since my last post! In between posts I've been sick while we are trying to finish up all the little projects left before next weekend! I can't wait to take some after pictues to show all the changes we've already made. We have our first set of company coming for the weekend for the Jimmy Buffett concert in Frisco. I can't wait for the concert and all of the crazy people that come out in full force!
As far as a baby update, I don't have much to report. I haven't been to the doctor in 3 weeks and everything checked out ok. I didn't get any new pictures of the baby, but I did get to finally hear the heartbeat! Talk about an amazing experience. I go back this Monday, and I hope the baby is not too shy so maybe we can find out if we are having a boy or a girl. I am dying (and I think my mom is too) to get the nursery going! Hopefully I'll have some news and pics Monday!

Week 11

Tommy was finally able to go with me to my doctor's appointment
so he got to see the baby for the first time in person.

Moving...

My husband and I are at the tail end of selling our home and moving into our dream house. We are so excited to be spreading out into a house that is over twice the size of our current home. The formal living/dining and master bedroom furniture has been ordered. In the next week or two we will be making the final paint selections. Of course none of these updates are going to be as fun as when we get to create our nursery!

First blog post

Welcome to my blog! After much prodding by other bloggers, I've decided to jump in and try my hand at blogging.
